One last post for today.

Well, today Carole has been a busy girl making cards and getting them uploaded. This is the last upload. It's my take on the BBTB challenge to do the Clown cut on the Cricut Paper Dolls cart. I also cut the Circus Tents. Stickles were added, and there must be a Cuttlebug Embossing or two. Please take a look at the BBTB site. More today cards.

I am on a roll today. More cards. The Hoppy Halloween is Cricut based, the witch's hat and the little frog were in a tray of leftovers. The Autumn card is my fav. The leaves are Sizzix, added some ribbons, a punch heart or two, Stickles. The last card is just one of those no-reason cards that can be used for a quick note. I was thinking about "Autumn Leaves drift past my window" song as I did this card.

Cards Cards Cards

I have been so wild with my retirement, bouncing from making cards, scrapbooking, beading, knitting, crocheting, and a LOT of embroidery work and sewing and it has been wonderful....but I've decided to allocate a schedule. I've decided that one week will be ALL card making, the next week ALL scrapbooking, the next week I will sew. That way at the end of each allocated week I should have a presentable lump of creations. Yesterday I did manage to sit and make some cards. The Spider's Halloween used the Cricut Paper Dolls Dress Up cart for the spider and the web. I added Stickles to the web, and the background paper is just left over from cutting out a bunch of black spiders to decorate. The card for It's Your day is a double pocket card with bookmark sentiments inserted. The card opens for written messages. I've used the Celebrations Cricut cart for the sentiment and balloons, and I added some Liquid Lacquer on the balloons. "My Guy" is a double pocket double sided paper and I've added buttons, fibers and a bead, with a little sewing here n' there. I have problems with guy cards, but this one worked, I think. I love the Anniversary card. It's a double pocket, double sided paper, but the card does not open Three sentiments are inserted, and I've added Cuttlebug embossing to the bookmarks, ribbon, ribbon roses, a big gold ribbon left over from a delightful package I received once, and finally two dangling hearts from the Squeeze Punches.

HallmarkScrapbook Challenge/Giraffe

Hallmark Scrapbook Message Board has wonderful challenges going on...each of the participants was assigned a week to select a challenge.....It is my turn to pick a challenge due for Sept 8th...and I chose the Animal Kingdom cart from Cricut, and I selected the giraffe die cut. Here is my entry.

BBTB Challenge/Strawberry

Regina asked we designers to use the strawberry die on the INDY cartridge from Cricut. I don't have that cart but my friend DeeDee shared some with me so I could enter. I sat and stared at the dies she sent but the mojo wasn't working. Finally I just tossed something in the pot so I could enter. And as usual, when I looked at the wonderful entries, I smacked my forehead and said DUH, why couldn't YOU have thought of that??? This circle of designers are one solid group of talent!!!

Daisy Dog Quilt

As you all surely must know by now,my son and daughter in law have the most precious dog named Daisy.
And Grandma Carole decided Daisy needed her very own Dawg Quilt. Daisy received her quilt today and Lee said she sniffed the quilt and promptly flopped down in the center of it, put her head on her paws and rested. She KNEW it was hers.

BBTB Challenge/Boot

Regina asked us to use the boot/stocking cut on the Christmas Cheer cart from Cricut. We could use the die in any way we wanted but we could not use the traditional Christmas color of Red. Here is my take. I used a rubber stamp for the body and added hand cut dress and hair .... the boots were cut out of the dress fabric. She really does think she is a diva with her unique dress!!!!

Hallmark Scrapbook Challenge

Here is a card I did to meet Shelly's challenge going on at Hallmark Scrapbook Message Board. We were to use the Rectangle2 cut on the George cartridge...so here it is, with a truism in to boot.

Sweet Pea Express

Regina at BBTB asked us designers to use the New Arrival cartridge, and to use the Train die cut. This is my take on that challenge. I love the little train so I had great fun making this card.

Kathy gave me this Wylde Woman award along with some other lovely lovely friends. I am so pleased and I DO love this title. Yay, I am so pleased to say that Ready Set Create has issued their August/September issue of the online magazine and I have 4 cards in. It's always a great excitement to have my stuff show up in RSC magazine. It's a lovely magazine and has the most awesome cards and projects. Very inspiring..

Awesome Frog

Yesterday my dear friend Jean came to take me for a birthday lunch. She loves frogs, as I do, so I made her a batch of froggy cards. Here is one!!! I used my Cricut Paper Dolls cartridge, my Cuttlebug, my Nestabilities, and that darling Martha Stewart butterfly punch my messageboard friend Jeannie sent me.... and here you have the end result.

Butterflies Flit

This is my card for the BBTB challenge from Regina to use the Cricut Tear Drop cartridge. Actually these butterflies are 3 layers. I love this die and I love the Tear Drop cartridge. TFL.

Don't Fence Me In

Regina gave us a challenge a few weeks back to use the cowgirl hat cut from the Paper dolls cart. I took the cow cut from the same cartridge along with the fence cut.... and the grass. I was a busy girl using that cartridge, I tell ya! I did handdraw the little blue bird sitting on the fence.

Blog Candy

Ok, I have over 4000 hits on my blog. It's time to celebrate because this makes me very happy indeed to see all my visitors. Thank you all. Here is a hand sewn embroidered tote I made. It has a darling little teddy bear embroidered on the front. This would be a cute little gift for a child...or even a grown up child who still loves teddy bears. I still do...!!!

Heidi's Beauty Shop Visit

This is Heidi Sweetface after her visit to the groomer. She is prancing big time and so happy to be rid of that fur that makes her look like a lug of a dog. When we went to the counter to check her in, a couple was behind us waiting to check in their little poodle. As it turned out when I went to pick Heidi up, the same couple appeared behind me again. Happy to see me at long last, Heidi bounded from the groomer room and the man laughed and said "Well lookie there, you traded that big ole' dog for a tiny one". Heidi does look tiny with that 15 lbs. of fur gone. She's still spoiled though. Nothing is going to change THAT. I decided she should get a new collar and leash and I decided I would try to make them and use some of the designs and alphabets on my embroidery machine. The leash and collars shown here are test runs, and Heidi can wear the collar until I do a new one now that I knew zzzzzactly how to put it all together, and where I need to allow space, etc. Still and all, she loves this new bright collar and so do I.

Hallmark Scrapbook Challenge

We are having more fun at Hallmark Scrapbook on the message board because we have been taking turns selecting challenges. Sharon directed us to do something using the broom die cut from the Paper Dolls cart. Yikes, I thought...what am I going to do with a....BROOM. So I went with the witch theme and here it is. Any smart Witch would surely have her transportation guarded by a black cat and few bats.

Shooting Star

Regina asked us to use the George cartridge, the Star die cut and this is my take. And you should see the lovely paper creations that appeared on the www.regina-bittenbythebug.blogspot.com.

Apple of my eye...

I have an embroidery machine and it has many little designs built in. I wanted to see what the little apple looked like, and once done I decided to use it on a card. I used my Cricut Plantin Schoolbook for the Scallop Frame, the apple and letter A.
I also used my wonderful Cuttlebug and the embossing folder for Swiss Dots. The open cut work on the edge of the card is from my Fiscars punch.

USA Tag Challenge

We have the most awesome challenges going on at the Hallmark Scrapbook message board. Kate was asked to select a cartridge and she selected the Base Camp, and the USA tag die cut. This is my idea on the project and for the first time I was highlighted on the Chirp Newsletter. Oh yay...!!

Right On Target

Regina at Bitten By The Bug (lovingly referred to as BBTB) asked us to design a project using the circle on the Accent Essentials Cricut cart so here is my idea on paper. Also I used the frame cut for the open framework in the background, and I used the arrow. That wild and crazy arrow. The lettering is from my Sizzix Alphabars and some rubber stamps. Speaking of dogs...

Everyone who has read my blog knows my Springer Spaniel, Heidi Sweetface. She's going on 13 and she's slowed down so much, wants to be as near to me as possible and during the day I completely wear the poor sweetie out ...she will just get settled near my feet and I am up and dashing to the sewing machine or the card counter or the kitchen...and when she suddenly realizes I have moved she dashes about to find me. She collapses on the floor next to me, lapses into loud snoring, and I am off again to other places. Each night as I prepare for bed, there is my routine. I lock the patio door, turn off the two ceiling fans, shut off the TV, turn off the lights and head down the hall. Heidi left for the bedroom about the time I was doing the ceiling fan shut down. When I get to the bedroom, I find her, both front feet on the bed, patiently looking over her shoulder, waiting for me to hoist her back end up on the bed. Here is a picture of that very cute Heidi: Here too is a project I did for a challenge at Bitten By The Bug. We were to use the USA Tag off the Base Camp cartridge. So here you are, two photos, dog and dog tags....

Party Animal

This is a challenge for the Bitten By The Bug designer site....we were asked to use the Banner cut from the Celebrations cart. I used the dog and hat as the center die cut on the banner, and then I cut out the same die in brown. The sentiment of Party is from the same cart, and the additional sentiment is computer text. I used the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder as well.

Flag Boy

I drew up a few things and this little kid in patriotic colors just had to have a card to fit his outfit. I used the Cricut cart Celebrations for the word, the Flag is from Sizzix, the stars are punched.... and of course kid was drawn with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with mineral spirits. TFL.

The new drawings...

I've been busy, just drawing and drawing...and once I had a quick stack, I started making cards for the artwork. Here is a little batch of the new stuff. The Rooster Card says inside "Now That is something to crow about", the Twinkle Card inside says "Happy Birthday, Twinkle Girl", and the red birdie...inside it says "it was your bird-day". The cards were handdrawn and colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits. I just LOVE this technique.

I've Been Tagged

Yep, Carol of Crazy For Crafting tagged me. I love being tagged and I love reading tag answers of my blogging and designer friends. Here are my questions and answers:
TEN YEARS AGO: I was Vice President of a Trustee Sale company. I had been in mortgage lending since 1957 and I had done all phases of mortgage lending .. the last 12 years I was a Trustee Sale Officer. I was 60 and knew that I had 10 years left to work and on certain days that made my shoulders slump...!! I loved my friends at the other companies, I loved my clients, but that 10 more years seemed like a forever to go...suddenly my target of December 2007 arrived and I am officially retired 6 months.
FIVE THINGS TO DO TODAY: 1. Do a load of wash. I ignored it on Sunday because I said to myself "self, you are retired, you do not have to wash in that rigid working-all-week regime. 2. Brush Heidi Sweetface. She is a Springer Spaniel who wears her winter coat. She will have her summer hair cut this weekend. 3. Work on that stack of scrap bin paper. Make as many cards as I can. 4. Start a special July birthday card for my son who will turn 39 on July 31. I have the card done for my DIL whose bday is July 4th. and finally 5: Work on that almost-finished quilt. I just have to sew down the binding and one quilt is done. Finito!!
And I will only have 5 more quilt tops to work on. And then of course there are the tubs of fabrics in the closet and the stacks of fabrics in the sewing area to make more quilts, totes, purses, pillows, etc., etc.,
SNACKS: Sweet and Salty Popcorn. I love the stuff...and there is only one store that carries it.
IF I WERE (TO BECOME) A MILLIONAIRE: I would invest some of it for me, give money to my son and DIL, share it with my Uncle, my 3 cousins, my step sisters and brother, and I have my special friends I would share it with, give some to Best Friends in UT. And if any were left over for "free spending", I would buy the most glorious and expensive embroidery machine. and have a room built on my house for sewing only. Gee, I think I'd need to be a Gazzllionaire!!
PLACES I'VE LIVED: Phoenix, AZ 1937-1955, Flagstaff, AZ 1955-1959, Phoenix and Glendale AZ 1959 to present. I meant to move to California but it never happened.

E for Elephant

Regina of BBTB asked us designers to use the Elephant cut from the Cricut ZooBalloo cartridge, and this is my take on that challenge. The gals did a most awesome job on the elephant and everytime I eagerly look at each challenge entry, I bonk me'self on the forehead and say DUHHHHHH, why didn't I think of THAT.

RRS ScrapBook Workshop

On June 14, 2008 Red Rubber Stamps held their first Scrapbook Workshop that invited new and seasoned scrapbookers. Mone' and Terrie joined in and we had a lot of fun creating wonderful pages and visiting. As of this day we have set aside July 19 and August 9. It is so rewarding to take precious photos and set them upon pretty pattern papers, embellish the pages, assign a title and add our journalling. Here we are....all of us scrapbook diva gals. Carole (me) is the grey haired diva.

Okay,it seems that when I uploaded some cards recently that had my handdrawn art, they were well received by some of the viewers on the message board. If you would like to win two of my images, just make a card with flowers, link it to my blog and leave your name.
