Another graduation card

My dear friend Claudia has a lovely granddaughter who is graduating from high school. The graduation card is 5-1/2x5-1/2 in size and was created using two pattern papers folded in half. These were connected by a pink ribbon weave. This gave me 7 pages to decorate. The front of the card has a Nestie mount in white embossed cardstock, the hat and graduation sentiments are from my Wild Card cartridge, and the year is from my Blackletter cartridge. Inside there are photographs of this girl taken in 1995, and pages of die cut sentiments. I've added some yellow flowers here and there. The white card represents a gift of a lapquilt I made, and the sentiment is from my Stamping cartridge. TFL.

Cutting cafe/Graduation Background

I love this set that Regina released a wee while back. I have 3 graduation cards to create and get in the mail. Two girls, one fella and this is what I came up with for the fella card. I used the background printables inside the card and a circle sentiment that topped the cap. You can view the set at Cutting Cafe here. I added a Nestie mount inside along with a wonderful metal charm. TFL....

Serenity at Sea

This week's challenge is sponsored by Peggy Loves Vintage. This site has some of the cutest vintage images ever. I snapped up this ocean scene in a heartbeat because I have always loved the ocean. I could stand on a cliff or on the seashore and feel a wonderful sense of serenity. So, that is what I titled this card. We were asked to use Tags Bags Boxes & More for our cut and the first row of tags was our playground. Here is my card. I cut the tag in 3 sizes, embossed each tag, added a ribbon and stacked them. The 3 seagulls are from Life Is A Beach cartridge. TFL, and do visit BBTB2 and enjoy the designer's creations.

Here is the card I did initially and although I was okay with it, I decided I really wanted that sea scene with the sailboat.

I love the harlequin background paper, the flower has a fancy fabric brad in the center.

As they say, better late than never....Here is the card I did for Earth Day. I did two cards, as usual, and I sent one to a friend. I used Regina's Cutting Cafe background printable here. I love the background sentiments that Cutting Cafe offers . The earth die cut is from Give A Hoot Cricut cartridge, and Earth sits upon a blue Nestie round scallop. I edge punched with Martha. BBTB2/LAB/Leaf1

This week's challenge comes from Life's A Beach cartridge, and we were asked to design with the Leaf1. This is our new "Reader's Choice" pick. I am afraid I came up with a makeshift card for this challenge. I just had no ideas smacking my brain on what to do with this leaf. So...I made a birthday card, a flower here and there and that leaf. Cutting Cafe Delights

I love love love anything Cutting Cafe.... I always get great delight in working with the printable images and the lovely and always appropriate sentiments that Regina creates. You just can't find rubber stamps to cover all of the words this lady allows us to use. Here are two cards that I did recently using some of the Cutting Cafe delights.

This is the coffee series. I used the coffee printable as well as the circle sentiment. This card will be just the ticket to send to my coffee-sharing friend. I even sewed a wee bit on the card, and as always I did the Cuttlebugging. Gotta love my sweet Cuttlebug.

This card has been designed with the butterfly shape card. It's so easy.... the card just designs itself. Here is the Cutting Cafe link to view the printable. I used a pattern paper that actually has butterflies on it, and I cut a small one out to sit above the main body. Oh those jewels.

Gotta love the bling.

BBTB2/Sentimentals/Bee/BLOGHOP

Month end. I love month end because that is when we are able to do a blog hop along with our weekly challenge for BBTB2. This challenge is hosted by that oh so wonderfully talented Donna Mundinger. She has chosen the Sentimentals cartridge and we are to design our creations with the bee.

I do not have the Sentimentals cart but I do have a lot of bee die cuts to select from. I went to my old standby of so many years (BC..before Cricut), my Sizzix dies. This bee is one of my favorite cuts.

Now, if you began this blog hop at BBTB2, you were directed to sweet Lori to see her project on the challenge. Lori has directed you here to my blog site, and I will direct you to Julia's blog here. Here is my card: I have quite a few Lasting Impressions patterned cardstock which I used to use for the Lasting Impressions Brass embossing dies. I took one 8-1/2x11 sheet of the gold plaid paper and I made two cards from this. I added two sizes of my Nesties and ran them through my Cuttlebug embossing folder. The bee, of course, is from my Sizzix die, and the sentiment was cut from my Just Because cartridge (page 56). I tried the bee die on that page but wasn't thrilled with the final die. I added a jewel for a wee bit of bling for Ms. Bee.

For my blog candy offering, I always dig into some sewing project or some embroidery work. I have this Size SMALL white tee shirt that bears a pretty orange rose design. Cutting cafe/Faith In You

I had so much fun making this silly little card with a pickle on it. The pickle is from my new Just Because cartridge. I cut the pickle in 3 different layers, ran it through the ever-so-wonderful Cuttlebug embossing folder as well as the card base. Inside you will see a very appropriate sentiment from Regina's Cutting Cafe. I actually love this little silly card. You can see the Cutting Cafe set here.

All About Boys/Cutting Cafe

I was asked to make a few cards for little boys and what better to grab up some of Regina's Cutting Cafe printables. You can a wee portion of this set here, and I have used a few from different sets she offers. Here are the cards. A little of this, a little of that, but I think each one is very cute.

BBTB2/FMK/Card

Happy Monday to each of you. This week's challenge was selected by our design team sister, DeeDee, and she chose From My Kitchen cartridge and we were to use the card cut on page 59. That would be the ice cream sundae key, with a shift and "tabs" feature. Here is my card.

The base of the card has blue paper that had great texture, and then I put it through the Cuttlebug embossing folder to get those pretty scattered flower impressions. The FMK card cut is pink, and I used the negative flowers to add along the lower rim of the pink card. I put a few jewels on the pink buds, added two pretty blue ribbons, and the sentiment "Spring" is from my Blackletter cartridge. I love print that has a calligraphy feel to it and this cartridge does the trick. I found a wee butterfly laying in a tray and I just added her to the scene. BBTB2/Plantin Schoolbook/Rick Rack

Winner of the Cat Check Book Cover: I am pleased to give the winner of the draw for the fabric checkbook cover. Congrats to a BBTB2 DT sister, Beth Moore. When we do a regular blog hop at the end of the month for the BBTB2, naturally DT sisters are exempt from the draws on the blog candy. It was my week as hostess on BBTB2 and I went to one of my fav carts. Plantin Schoolbook. It has so many cute cuts on it, and one that I use frequently is what I call the rick rack cut. I used snippets of papers from my scrapbin, I used a sweet Cutting Cafe printable, my wonderful and cherished Cuttlebug for embossing, a punch heart with some buttons, a ribbon adorning the neck of my cute little green and white checkered giraffe (from New Arrival). Now, this is a just because Blog Candy offer. I am knee deep in making cute little checkbook covers and camera case wristlets and a few other fabric goodies. Sometimes there are little imperfections in the finished product and this is the case concerning this cute little cat checkbook. Cutting Cafe/Trees

I love this simple tree from Cutting Cafe. Once I printed out the printable, I simply added some gold jewels and a MS tree leaf. The edges are scalloped with an MS punch, that white base is mounted on a black base and then onto a preprinted gold harlequin Lasting Impressions cardstock which is cut at the A2 size. BBTB2/New Arrival/Delivery

Carla is our hostess this week and she selected the baby in the sling from New Arrival. Now, New Arrival is one of my fav cartridges (see I've said that a lot lately about a lot of different cartridges, but...what can I say...they ALL are fantastic). This card came together so quickly because once the baby and sling were cut and embellished, I simply Cuttlebugged the card front with the "baby" embossing folder. The sentiment is also from N.A. Happy Monday and Happy Blog Hop. It was Lori's week to chose our challenge and she selected the Paisley cart, and we were to design with one of the two purses. My dear friend Sandi shared some cuts with me as I do not have the Paisley cartridge. In this month end blog hop, perhaps you have arrived from my very talented friend Donna, and I am glad you are here.

Here is my take on the challenge. I loved the papers that Sandi cut the purses from so I used two. A woman can't have too many purses, can she? I added some punch flowers on one purse, some jewels on the other...and just for fun, I threw a pair of beautiful high heel shoes into the mix that I cut from the Tie The Knot cart. And I titled my card "Essentials" because a purse and a pair of good looking girly girl high heels are certainly that...

Since this is a blog hop, I am pleased to offer up this bit of sewing. It's a small tote that features two cutsie kitty cats, some orange rick rack and some eyelet lace. Cutting Cafe/Easter Card

There are always so many choices when Regina does her printables, one could swim in circles trying to grab on one. You want the whole armful. Meantime, here is a cute little bunny card I did which features a snippet of one of the printables from Cutting Cafe and a small strip of the color Easter Eggs (done with Copics). You can see the choices here. My bunny is from Doodlecharms cartridge and I even used the "border cut" to bring in three sweet baby bunnies.

The card front was embossed with Cuttlebug as were the die cuts and printables. TFL...

BBTB2/Sweettreats/cake2

Our hostess this week is that oh so talented Susan who has chosen the Sweet Treats cartridge. She asked us to design with the Cake2 cut. All cards are fun to make but somehow when I do a card that is a celebration, featuring cakes, cupcakes, candles, party hats.......well, it just makes it a wee bit more fun. We have a lot of fun on this team. Meantime, here is my take on the challenge.

Part of my card is from Cutting Cafe background series here. I wanted my card to feature pink and brown so I was grabbing up scrapbin snippets and I had just enough of the pink with brown polka dots to add to the card base and cut out my cake. I used brown paper and the MS Drippy Goo punch for the icing. I used the "card feature" on this cartridge and so I have a card on a card. Another Cutting Cafe sentiment sits inside the cake. I also cut a strawberry from the same cartridge, and the layers have been cut with two MS edge punches.

The candle was white and I used my Copics to stripe it. TFL...

Cutting Cafe/Trees

I love this Cutting Cafe set featuring trees. All sorts. All shapes...Wonderful designs to create with,. I am pleased with my simple little Sweet Home card. I colored in the trees with my Copics, and the sweet little home die is from Don Juan cartridge, the sentiment is cut from Lyrical Letters cartridge. I used a MS edge punch for the top enhanced with a strip from the Cuttlebug embossing folder. I added some score lines with my Scor-It. The base card has also been embossed. BBTB2/SYI/Flourish

This week our leader, Heather, is the hostess and she asked us to design from Cricut's Stretch Your Imagination. We were asked to use the Flourish die on page 77. This week, as well, we have a really neat sponsor. Technique Tuesday. They sent us this darling little deer stamp. So my card reflects not only the flourish but the cute deer. Cutting Cafe/Baby Background

Regina has some of the most wonderful printables evahhhhhh... I love anything that will let me create a darling card for babies so I grabbed up this background printable for babies. . This card has had a ribbon, (a darling little pink ribbon with footsies on it, a giftie from my talented friend Sandi Kelly (celtic woman)....a velum sentiment and some scalloped edging added but the printable makes it all come together. Take a look at the many choices Regina has in this set. TFL....

BBTB2/ACY/Garden

Shelly is our hostess this week on BBTB2. She selected A Child's Year for our assignment, and she said we could select the boy or girl cut on page 36. I picked the little boy and used the cut as a silhouette. He is tending to a flower and for that I used the green and yellow papers to enhance the setting. Then I placed an embossed Sizzix frame around the child, added some lillies on the frame itself and added a sweet pink MS butterfly glammed up with pink micro beads and a pearl. The edges of the background paper has been edged with a MS punch.

Happy Sunday night and welcome to Monday morning. It's BBTB2 time, and it's blog hop time. What a winning combo, doncha think? I am so pleased to be the host this week on BBTB2. I selected Celebrations or Doodlecharms as the cartridges to use, and I love love love the cupcakes on either of these cartridges so I asked the designers to use one in their project. Here is my take on the card. I've used one of the cartridges...can you guess which one? Be sure to take note on BBTB2 regarding the special giveaway from Everyday Cricut.

The cupcake has been mounted on a Cutting Cafe "sweet" background print, and I've added a sweet pink polka dotted ribbon, a punch pink flower with a button center and I've edged the front of the card with MS edge punches. And my traditional "doodles".

Oops Creation

A while back we designers of BBTB2 had a challenge to use the heart card on Wildcard cartridge and I made this pink delight. I was pretty satisfied with the design however after I had photographed the darling and was preparing to upload it to the design team blog, it was then I saw the misplacement of the jewels and that pretty pink bow came out looking more peach than pink. I couldn't really add another jewel because that would have made the line worse, I supposed I could have added a wee punch heart in that space but I didn't. The card has been lurking on my desktop yelling for a home. So, I've shared my unbalanced creation with you and now I will drag it to the "oops" folder on my desktop. One day I shall count the items in this spot.

BBTB2/EveryDayPaperDolls/Elephant

My talented friend Sandi Kelly is the hostess this week on BBTB2...and she selected the Every Day Paper Doll cart with the elephant cut. Now, I don't have that cartridge (I always have to add 'yet') so Sandi sent me some cuts to work with... Here is my take on this challenge. The Circus tent is cut from Paper Dolls Dress Up, and the title is cut from Blackletter solutions cart. I just got this cartridge from my Cricut Rewards.... I had a little party hat laying around from the Celebrations cart so Mr. Elephant is wearing it... Mom and baby elephant follow behind.

BBTB2/Wedding/DoubleHeart

It's time for the BBTB2 challenge and this week the hostess is Rene Stamps. She selected the Wedding cartridge, and asked us to design with the Double Heart cut. Well, it feels like I've done...oh say....about 100000000 Valentine cards so I steered away from a traditional Valentine's Day kinda card using red hearts and the sort. Here is the card I created.

I found this double sided paper laying around doing nothing so I grabbed it up and assigned it to the challenge at hand. I had a little sentiment circle laying in a small box of extra do-dah stuff and I grabbed it. I added a punched flower MS style, put two ribbons on one of the hearts and the sweet little Fleur de lis cut peeking from under the solid heart was a giftie from my dear friend Diane. That die has a MS jewel added as does the circle sentiment which also has a smaller cut from the Spellbinders dies. The edge of the pattern patter has been scallop punched.

Pretty Poppies

Bold Red Poppies and a wee bit of Cricut sentiments here and there make up for cards packing a vivid image. Last year I bought a pack of Poppy paper from M's and I was so taken with these beautiful red flowers on that black paper I could not bring myself to do anything with the pack but put it aside to admire. However, in this pack I found a few sheets of nothing but punch outs. I detached each one and stacked them in a box for later use. Here are the results of just sort of slamming cards together using the punch outs. These cards basically made themselves.
Not all of the flowers were the Red Poppies. There were punch outs of happy little white and orange daisies and they are holding their own on these cards. The background papers here are from a 4x6 black and white pattern paper card pack, and it is quite a decision to shift from page to page trying to decide which one of these lovely papers to use.

All About Babies

I just had to do this card using the sweet umbrella for a baby shower. It's from All About Babies printables at Cutting Cafe. Take a peek at the choices here. This is a standard A2 card, and the front has been run through my Cuttlebug Embossing folder for baby, I've added tiny flower punches and buttons around the bottom edge of the umbrella, a few ribbons on the handle and then just to give it some kazing, I put a little bold yellow bootie die (New Arrival) with a pink ribbon. It was embossed with Swiss Dots. This embossing folder is my very fave and so there would never be a time when I couldn't find it, I have four!!....

BBTB2/WildCard/Heart

Happy Monday to all.... I hope each of you had a wonderful weekend full of love, happiness and fun. Lots to report today.... First of all, it's the design team posting for our weekly challenge at BBTB2 and this week the lovely talented Penny Shuberg is our hostess. She asked us to design with Wild Card (one of my faves with the wonderful choices of unique cuts) and we were to use the Heart and Heart Envelope. I have to admit...this one gave me fitzzzzzz. I just couldn't seem to end up with a card that I really was happy with. Nonetheless, here is the final acceptance. I called this "Nine of Hearts" because I just kept adding curled up hearts and in the end, there were a total of nine. So without further adeau, here is the card. Lots of red and pink happenin' here.

This was the weekend that my fun fun fun friends Kris, Deb and Sandy came up from Tucson to spend 2-1/2 days with me for what we call "our Card Over". The living room was full of tables and tubs and pouches full of papers and embellishments and happy girls designing cards.

Here's a pix of moi' and at my table you will see my new fun DreamKuts machine. This darling little wonder cuts many sizes of papers so easily. I really love it... I think I slapped together about 20 cards and when I got bored with that, I colored in some Tilda images with my Copics, and then later I did some scrapbooking.

Deb, Sandi and Kris, at their stations, surrounded by lovely card making supplies. And you can see Heidi in the kitchen watching over Deb. Heidi loves the kitchen because that is where the foods and doggy treats live and so she kept a watchful eye for anyone who wandered in... We had a great time, and those 3 gals made the most awesome cards.

Sweetheart Frogs

I love frogs. I guess most of my peeps know that...I have some friends who send me frogs to join in my FrogVille that I have around the house. Today I received these two frogs who are holding hands. She has her froggy lips puckered and he is waiting to plant a Valentine Frog Kiss. How cute are they???

I decided to do an Easter Card because bunnies just must be on a sweet Easter design. The pink and blue mounts were edged with the giant MS punch. I added some MS punch flowers and a rubber stamped sentiment. The grass is a Sizzix die cut.

And now onto the blog candy! I have three small totes that I am offering, so three visitors who leave a comment will be in the draw. I embroideried the designs on one of my embroidery machines. First up is Birdy Tote, a small size measuring 7x7-1/2. Birdy is encased with blue rick rack and there is a sweet burdundy ribbon tied at the top edge.
Second blog candy is Chickie tote, measuring 8x8 and the tote has red rick rack around Chickie and some cotton eyelet lace around the top.
Third offering is Ducky Tote, measuring 9x9 with a sweet eyelet lace around the top edge.
These are not large totes but they can carry small treasures and books. I hope you like the challenge card and that you will want to sign up for the drawing.
